Refuge in the Time of Trouble

A good place of refuge for the great time of trouble
during the
coming Sunday Law persecution. Too far
from the highway for those who hate us to bother find
our place and be of any problem. Much water available
in nearby creek any time of the year. Good cover from
trees preventing detection from the sky. This may be
of interest to everybody living in western regions of
Southern Oregon and Northern California. Print
these maps and take them along for guidance.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
REDWOOD  HIGHWAY
( Hwy.199 )

Can you read (or guess) the name "Packsaddle Creek" near the upper right hand corner? Where the road crosses (bridge not visible on map), that is where on the other side you may want to set up camp waiting for the return of the Lord when the time has come. Route 17N27 will get you started (see below) - 17N27 later turns into 18N08 - total distance from highway to camp area is about 9 miles. 4-wheel drive (or front-wheel drive) recommended - pickup truck clearance (height above road) not required - regular passenger car with good tires will make it too. Once there, please NO camp fires and NO smoking. Bring your own tent or else sleep in your car. Also bring your own food, etc. - no developed camp site, no buildings, no facilities, no pavement, but plenty of (creek) water and beautiful surroundings. Bring a shovel to dig a hole to bury your garbage, etc. Please keep in mind, this is not for entertainment but a last resort get away.

The map below shows the area at the end of the road where
the final camp would be set up - just south of (below) section 34.
Further down is the "
Wounded Knee Mountain" which may
have been the sceene of an exciting Indian story.

Directions from Grants Pass, Oregon,
take Red Wood Hwy (#199) south to Cave Junction,
continue south on 199 for about 23 more miles,
then make a left on Siskiyou Fork Road.

Directions from Crescent City, California,
go north on 101, then exit to Red Wood Hwy (#199),
continue north on 199 for about 25 more miles,
then make a right on Siskiyou Fork Road.

Directions from Brookings, Oregon,
go south on 101, then turn left on 197 (before the bridge),
then turn left again on 199, continue for about 20 more
miles, then make a right on Siskiyou Fork Road.

I drove out there 6/4/06 to see if everything is the way I remember it from years before when I was there last time. Driving along that road (17N27 & 18N08) everything looked just fine until I came to within about 1 mile of the point of destination where a one foot diameter tree had fallen over across my way (removed by now) preventing me from driving any further. I walked the last mile to the end of the road and found no other obstacle. The bridge across the creek is much wider than I remembered, wider than passage of a logging truck would require (sturdy bridge in good repair).
